Melawati Hill - Playing with Monkey
History
Selangor was associated with tin and ore mining activities since the past. And Selangor’s history dates back to more than 2,000 years back with Klang being in existence long before Parameswara’s discovery of Malacca.
The history of the Bugis influence in Selangor started way back in 1722 when the five Bugis Brothers set out to oust the then ruling Sultan, Raja Kechil and one of the brothers, Raja Sulaiman was crowned the ruler of Johor-Riau. In 1766, one of the descendant, Raja Lumu established Kuala Selangor and became the first Sultan of Selangor. He is also known to have a built a fort strategically placed on a hill in Kuala Selangor and named it Kota Melawati. The fort was used for Selangor’s defense. Later in 1784, the Dutch conquered the fort and renamed it Fort Altingsburg, but soon after was recaptured by Sultan Ibrahim on the 28th June 1785.
瓜拉雪兰莪皇家山是这里最高的地点。这里有一座轟立在山顶上已有200年历史的爱丁斯堡灯塔（Fort Altingsburg，1794年）和大炮，由荷兰人所建；这里还有一间县长的官邸。后来皇家山上的城堡在雪兰莪内战时期几乎完全摧毁， 只剩下一些城墙，炮台，基石和刑场。1907年，英国重修灯塔。
从这里可以鸟瞰（kan）马六甲海峡及四周围的怡人风景。当年荷兰人就是利用此地的优势地形，观察周围环境，攻下马六甲。
【Melawati Hil（メラワティヒル）】
ブキットメラワティは人気の観光名称です。マラッカ海峡を見下ろすことができ、灯台、コタメラワティ砦の遺跡があります。歴史好きにはたまらない場所でしょう。
シルバーリーフモンキーとロングテールマカクなどの動物たちと出会うことができます。

Silver leaf monkey are seem roaming freely around here. The are generally harmless toward humans and afraid of people if they carry their baby.
The silvered leaf monkeys live in harmony with longtail macaques. Do take note that the macaques can be rather fierce, unlike the silvered leaf monkeys. Feeding is allowed and there are even vendors around who sell fruits and vegetables to visitors who wish to do so.
山上的猴子有两种~ 一种是温顺的银叶猴（Silver Leaf），另一种是比较野性的猕猴（Macaques）。
小贩提醒我们，不要去喂食，接近或和猕猴玩，因这类的猕猴（Macaques）常会攻击或抢游客手上的食物。
抵达黄家山顶部时，可以看到成群结队的银叶猴子。这些成年银叶猴浑身上的发毛是黑中带灰，而幼小的银叶猴身上的发毛即是金橙色的，在猴子长大三个月后逐渐变成灰色。
Cars are allowed up the hill on weekdays, only trams are used to ferry visitors on weekends, due to insufficient parking bays. Two trams are available, with each capable of accommodating 44 to 50 pax. The fare is RM5.30 per adult and RM3.20 per child (3 – 12 years of age). Those who wish to exercise may walk up the hill, which takes about 30 minutes.
据说这里有段时间是不让车辆驶入山区（但我们抵达的时候，并没有说明不能驶入，也没有看到指示牌）。游客是可以选择乘坐火车或步行上上，火车全程马币大约三块。
Atop the hill sits the Kuala Selangor Lighthouse, also known as Altingsburg Lighthouse. Built in 1907, this lighthouse is so well maintained that it is still in use today, to guide ships that sail along the Straits of Malacca. Hence, the lighthouse is lighted up from 7pm to 6am daily.
Adjacent to the lighthouse is the Historical Museum of Kuala Selangor District. Do spend time to read up on the history of Kuala Selangor and Bukit Malawati.
Distance from Route Five Hostel X Cafe is about 30 mins walk and 10 mins by car / grabs.
Bedrock (Batu Hampar)
The bedrock (Batu Hampar) is located at the far end of the Sultan's palace garden. It is placed on an open area with three descending steps in the direction of the sun rise.
Bedrock is a solid piece of stone measuring 5 x 5 x 1 feet square and supported by a heap of stone and sand as its base.
This stone believes was used as a place to behead traitors. There is also a theory that the stone was a place for Sultan Abdul Samad to relax and view the township of Kuala Selangor.
Now, when you at the Bedrock spot, you may see a lot tourist is focused on feeding the monkey and looking for the golden monkey and ignore it.
基石（坎头石）
从堡垒下来的阶梯上便是基石，据说这石头是用来处砍犯人和浮虐。 它实际上是一块四方形坚实的平滑石头， 是放在泥土和砂石堆上，大概有5 x 5 x 1 方英尺。还有另一种说法，说是苏丹阿都沙玛（Sultan Abdul Samad）命人把石头放在此，是守护着瓜雪市的。

Poisoned Well Bukit Melawati
The well contains water poisoned from a mixture of latex itchy bamboo shoots. Poisoned Well was used to torture traitors where they were placed inside the well with the water level reaching their chin.
毒井
瓜雪以前战事不断，留下了许多和战争有关的东西如：大炮、毒井、百步阶梯、坎头石等等。毒井，被荷兰人用于折磨敌人或叛徒用，据说井里是放了一些树胶和竹子的汁所制成的毒液，井水高于下巴，浸在井水中的人会奇痒无比，甚至死芒。因时间上的关系我们没有前去看这毒井。
Royal Tombs
Adjacent to the hilly area is the royal tomb, where three Selangor Sultans are buried.

皇室陵墓，有三位雪兰莪苏丹埋葬于此
